SuperLega is the highest level of competition in Italian Professional Volleyball, organized by the Italian Volleyball Federation which was founded in 1946 after the end of WWII and the overthrow of fascist regime.

Italy’s men's national volleyball team dominated in international volleyball competitions in the 1990s and early 2000s, by winning three World Championships in a row (1990, 1994 and 1998), six European Championships, one World Cup (1995) and eight World League (1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999 and 2000).

Italy’s Women’s national team's biggest victories were the Gold Medal at the 2002 FIVB Women's World Championship, being the first team to break the domination of Russia, Cuba, China and Japan; the 2007 and the 2011 World Cup, winning 21 out of the 22 matches in both tournaments.

Tuscany is one of the most photogenic areas of Europe, and the center of the Italian peninsula. It represents a special blend of beauty and millennia-old monuments. Florence, the main Tuscan city, famous for its cultural treasures, has been called an open-air museum surrounded by a medieval wall, with free entry. Yet it is also a dynamic place, filled with energy and life.

The name "Venice" means magic: gondolas gliding over canals, impressive cathedrals, century-old monuments, innumerable islands connected by breathtaking bridges, a beautiful square that seems to sink into the sea. This dream-like destination, spreading down the Adriatic Coast to Rimini, is the setting for an important part of Premier International Tours' program.
